Astro*Carto*Graphy®, developed by the late Jim Lewis, revolutionized astrology by transforming the ancient horoscope wheel into a world map that shows at a glance where a person can find love, money, vitality, or even jump-start a fading career - simply by moving to a new location. The Psychology of Astro*Carto*Graphy, based on Lewis' writings, notes, and lectures, with additional material by Kenneth Irving, has long been hailed as the definitive work on the subject, and this new edition revises and extends the information found in the original. Detailed explanations of the changes each planet can bring to a particular location help the reader to apply Astro*Carto*Graphy's insights to his or her own life. The book also includes useful notes, an index, historical and technical notes on Astro*Carto*Graphy, a resource section for further study, and afterwords on Jim Lewis, the man and the teacher, and the continuing charitable work that stems from his legacy.

Friday February 7, 2014. 7:30-9:00 pm. Long Island NCGR. Merrick, Long Island. Lecture: Astro*Carto*Graphy and Your Heart. This lecture will introduce you to the art of Astro*Carto*Graphy, a form of locational astrology promoted by the late Jim Lewis, focusing on how changing your location can bring out different qualities in your personality. For instance, if you move to a place where Mars is angular in your chart, you may be more assertive, and if Venus is strong then you may find love. But wait a minute. It is NOT as simple as all that. This lecture will show you how and why it is not that simple, focusing on how location affects the nature of your relationship. Good love in one place can turn into bad love (or no love at all) in another. There will be many examples of famous couples and clients whose relationships can be defined by the places where they lived, met, became intimate, or even did business. There are examples of people who found love in one place and lost it in another, and vice versa, leading to insights you can apply to your own life. But mostly it will show you how you can calculate the relocation chart, how you can read and interpret the Astro*Carto*Graphy map, and finally how to view two charts side by side in different locations.
Saturday February 22, 2014. 1:00-5:00 pm. Astrological Society of Princeton. Princeton, NJ. Predictive Power of Eclipses: Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Lunar and Solar Eclipses. (This lecture is appropriate for both Western and Indian astrology.) Eclipses have always been the best predictors of natal and mundane events from ancient to modern times. Their appearance in the sky heralds kings, reveal secrets, and are responsible for dramatic rises and promotions, as well as falls from grace. In this lecture, we will begin with a review of how eclipses are formed, and the length of their activity and significance. After looking at examples from past eclipses, we will focus on the two eclipses that just passed on October 18 and November 3 and how they resonate with the 2014 eclipses, especially the next two, which will occur on April 15 and April 29. We will focus on the degrees in which they occur, including the Indian naksatra, and will discuss the Saros and Metonic cycles. We will especially see the various times prior to and after the eclipses that they are activated by transiting planets. These will be interpreted from the perspective of mundane astrology (including Astro*Carto*Graphy), as well as natal astrology, so that you can view the meaning of life-changing events presently unfolding in your chart and the world around you. Case studies as well as charts from the participants will be discussed. Bring your charts and come prepared with your own stories.

Saturday April 19, 2014. 12-1:30 PM. EDT. Eclipse Webinar.$25. Registration will close on Friday April 18. (Remember if you cannot make it you will get the audio/visual recording plus handouts after the workshop.) This talk will focus on the next two eclipses of 2014.
April 15, 2014. Total Lunar Eclipse. 3:42 AM EDT. Tropical. 25° Libra 15'. Sidereal. 1° Libra 18'. Citra Naksatra.
April 29, 2014. S Solar Annular Eclipse. 2:14 AM EDT Tropical. 8 Taurus 51'. Sidereal. 14 Aries 54' Bharani Naksatra.
We will take an in-depth look at these two upcoming eclipses plus its relation to the Grand Cross, which occurs the week of April 21, done for both Western and Indian astrology audiences. Remember that the grand cross, which simply means two oppositions squared to one another, also applies to the Indian chart, since oppositions are simply full aspects, and squares are 75% aspects. In this case Mars is involved, which also forms a full aspect when applying four and eight places from itself. We will look at what it might say for your different ascendants, and what it could mean for different countries. We will also look at when these eclipses are activated both prior to (already occurred) or in the future so that we will realize that eclipses do not occur in a background, and their effects are felt for different lengths of time. We will also look at their relationship to Metonic and Saros cycles, as well as listen to your own stories about the eclipse. The cost of the webinar will be $25. If you cannot attend you will still get the handouts and the audio/visual recordings the next day. The talk will be in both tropical and sidereal (Vedic) zodiacs. Please sign up as soon as possible since the class will be closed out when it hits a certain number and registration will close at the end of the business day on Friday the 18th. If you order after that date, I cannot guarantee that you will be able to attend, but I will guarantee that you will have the audio/visual plus handouts sent to you after the talk. Sign up below here and you will get information about call-in information by Friday April 18th. Remember that you can do this with your computer, or you can also do it by telephone, or device.
